New Year’s Eve 2011

31 Dec

I was asked to share my New Year’s Eve outfit as it is glam but easy to wear. The top & pants are courtesy of Banana Republic’s great post Christmas sale and the shoes are something I’ve been saving for a special occasion!  I love how loose (and forgiving) the top is and the pants are so comfy! We’re going to a house party so that’s why I chose those shoes – there is no way I’d be walking the streets of Seattle in those heels!

New Year’s Reverse Dip

30 Dec

I wanted to add some color to my last manicure, but I didn’t want to cover up the polish. Instead I opted for a reverse glitter dip! Here I’ve combined Sinful in Let’s Talk and Milani Disco Lights.

While I’m not sold on this color combo or application (I feel I did it too thick) I like the reverse glitter dip and want to experiment with it more.

What is your New Year’s Eve manicure going to look like? Going for glitter?

Let’s Talk

28 Dec

Let’s Talk about Sinful‘s deep electric purple Let’s Talk! I instantly fell in love with the color when I saw it. At first I thought it was perfect only for toes (a little bold on the nails for me) but I love it for vacation! It applies evenly and the color is so rich! While it is beautiful on it’s own, it looks like you have a galaxy on your nails when coupled with iridescent glitter!

What’s your favorite fun polish color? Is there one you’ve always wanted to try but have been too afraid to do so?

Comfortable Yet Stylish Travel Clothes

27 Dec

I have been asked to share what I wear when traveling as it is hard to find clothes that are comfortable, stylish, and can take you from one city to another. I generally opt for the black  jeggings and sweater look as it is very comfortable, takes well to layering, and can look good for a dinner out if my bags get lost (which has happened on more than one occasion). I also tend to pile on the jewelry, but I always arrive to the airport sans jewelry; I keep it in a little pouch in my purse  so after I go through security it is all in one place.

Below is a representation of what I will be wearing to take me from sunny California to gray Seattle. The only thing missing is my dark grey Banana Republic trench coat!Comfortable Yet Stylish Travel Clothes

Seattle Bound!

27 Dec

I am leaving for Seattle, WA today! I am so excited!! I cannot wait to run in the brisk air and take in all of the sites!

Unfortunately that means that my updates will be intermittent through the end of the year 😦  I’ll try my best to update but may not be able to reach a computer until after the first of January.

Do any of you have New Year’s plans? I’d love to hear them!

Candy Cane Nails

26 Dec

Today’s nails are one of my favorite combos of tomato red and iridescent glitter! I’m wearing Color Mates in Romance and Wet n’ Wild in Hallucinate.

And don’t judge on the Color Mates… I bought it when I was in a bind: without polish at my boyfriend’s parent’s house for a week and my pedicure was flaking like no other (too brittle of a top coat). I literally took my morning jog to the drug store and this was the only polish they had. Turned out to be a great match!

25 Dec

Merry Christmas!!!! I hope that everyone has had a wonderful month of December and that your holidays are spent with those that you love! And for those of you who love runners, today is the final installment of the 25 Gifts for Runners series I’ve been doing here at Marathon Beauty!
